My AWC Brokerage Membership Was Cancelled - Need Advice

Started by JohnDoe42, June 28, 2023 15 replies, 842 views

Hey everyone, hoping to get some advice from the community about an issue I'm having with AWC Brokerage.

I've been a member of their auction platform since 2019 and have had two successful purchases in the past. The team at awcbrokerage.com has always been helpful, but this week my account was unexpectedly terminated after I couldn't complete payment for a recent winning bid.

I got caught up in the excitement of the auction and placed a bid on a beautiful Class A motorhome. But after winning, I took a closer look at my finances and realized it wasn't the right time for such a large purchase.

As a longtime member, I'm really disappointed by this outcome. Has anyone else experienced something similar with AWC Brokerage? Is there any chance of getting my account reinstated? I'd really appreciate any advice or insights.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey John, sorry to hear about your situation. I've been with AWC Brokerage since they started and have completed 7 purchases through their platform.

Their terms of service do state that failure to complete payment within 48 hours can result in membership termination. It's a strict policy, but it helps maintain serious bidders on the platform.

My advice would be to contact their member services directly and be completely honest about what happened. In my experience, they're reasonable people. If this is your first offense and you have a good history with them, they might give you a second chance.

I agree with WiseWanderer. The team at AWC Brokerage has always been fair in my dealings with them.

I had a similar situation last year where I had a financial emergency come up right after winning a bid. I called them immediately, explained the situation honestly, and they worked with me to postpone the purchase rather than cancel it entirely.

The key is communication - don't just disappear after winning a bid. Give them a call first thing tomorrow morning.

Hope it works out for you! Keep us posted.

Welcome to the forum, John! 👋 Sorry to hear about your account issue.

I've moved your thread to the "Auction Experiences" section where it'll get more visibility from members who've dealt with similar situations.

From what I've seen in the community, AWC Brokerage tends to be understanding with established members who have a good history. As others suggested, give them a call and explain your situation honestly.

I'd also recommend sending a follow-up email summarizing your conversation for documentation purposes.

Let us know how it goes! 🤞

I'm actually considering joining AWC Brokerage based on a friend's recommendation. This discussion has been really informative!

John, I hope you don't mind me asking - aside from this recent issue, how has your experience been with their platform? Would you recommend it to someone new to RV auctions?

Wishing you the best with getting your account reinstated!

UPDATE: I followed your advice and contacted AWC Brokerage this morning. I spoke with a very understanding representative named Sarah.

She reviewed my account history and said they would reinstate my account with a warning since this is my first issue in 4 years as a member! 🎉

I really appreciate everyone's advice. This community is amazing!

@NewExplorer - Absolutely I would recommend them! Their inventory is great, and the bidding process is straightforward. Just make sure you're ready to commit before placing bids 😊

That's great news, John! I'm so glad it worked out for you. 🎉

I've had nothing but positive experiences with AWC Brokerage. The Class C I purchased through them last year was in even better condition than described, and their inspection process was thorough.

For those new to RV auctions, I'd recommend starting with smaller bids to get familiar with the process before going after your dream RV.

Hey everyone, maybe we should keep these positive reviews to ourselves! If too many people find out about AWC Brokerage, we'll have more competition on bids! 😂

Just kidding of course - glad it worked out for you John! I've had my eye on a nice travel trailer on their site, so maybe I'll see some of you in the bidding arena (but I hope not too many!)

We've all had moments of impulsive enthusiasm when we see that perfect RV! I once bid on a vintage Airstream without measuring whether it would fit in my driveway. 😅

What matters is how we learn from these experiences. John, I'm really glad AWC Brokerage was understanding about your situation.

This thread has been really helpful for understanding how auction platforms handle these situations. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences!

I'm late to this discussion, but wanted to add my perspective for future readers.

I've used several RV auction platforms over the years, and AWC Brokerage has consistently been the most professional and user-friendly. Their vehicle inspections are more thorough than most, which reduces the risk for buyers.

For those new to the process, I always recommend:

  1. Set a maximum bid before the auction starts and stick to it
  2. Read the inspection reports carefully
  3. Factor in additional costs (transport, repairs, etc.)
  4. Have financing pre-arranged if not paying cash

John, I'm glad your situation was resolved positively. It speaks well of AWC Brokerage that they valued your long-term membership.
